The day before FX’s BASKETS premiere, 30 Chip Baskets lookalikes hit the street of Los Angeles and took onlookers by surprise. Clowns were dressed in custom-made French clown costumes and make-up identical to that seen in BASKETS. Clowns could be found everywhere from Santa Monica to Silverlake and were spotted doing everything from browsing Whole Foods to sampling hummus at the Farmer’s Market.
