With love, there’s honor, and with honor there’s love when both their presents there is Grace,
It’s been a full year in 365 days since I got the call that you passed away. I have woken up before you passed and gotten a call at 5:45 in the morning to come and collect your body. No one tells you sadness you feel when you are the one who has the sign off collect their body and their possessions. I would’ve been totally alone and I if my nephew wasn’t with me.
The sense of emptiness, sadness, but also knowing that you don’t have to cry out in pain anymore, you don’t have to wait for anybody attend to your needs. You are free from this world suffering, you are free from the diseases, most importantly, you are with God, and that brings me great comfort and joy.
It’s been a year of grieving and healing. I’ve been adjusting to this new normal and I still ugly cry for my mom and that will be something that will never change. Healing is ugly. It’s very ugly but recovery is necessary.
Please enjoy my mom’s eulogy. It took me a several days to write as I wanted to pour my heart, soul, body and let people know despite everything my mom is loved. I wanted to encompass that if no one else understood or knew that my mom was loved she was loved by her children and grandchild. The strength encourage it took to speak is still inconceivable. It was honor , being a her power attorney, caregiver and guardian.
Because her life and experiences a nursing home we’ve been able to create mind refreshers to really be a cornerstone and a community for our elderly @mindrefrescas
