FAWM #6 - Good Days
Make blueberry muffins, and dance in the kitchen
Read a good book, take a walk and just listen
To the streetlights and crickets, all singing their songs
This time I’ll try singing along
Drink coffee, then tea, then a cold gin and tonic
The best days are simple, if I’m being honest
I love watching bad movies, that I actually like
And drawn out Midwestern goodbyes
Oversleep, and you might miss the sunrise
Overthink, and you’ll waste a whole day
And if perfect ain’t perfect enough for you
Then you’ll let waste your whole life away
So drive out to nowhere, take Polaroid pictures
Then hang them right up on the wall by your bed
Buy some new socks, or new mittens in winter
It’s only as cold as it gets in your head
If you’ve always been guarded, then try being honest
Cry with a friend and laugh it away
Yea I’ve been there, I’m not quite beyond it
But sometimes I notice a couple good days
