A short anecdote by the author of The Wiltshire Moonrakers, Edward Slow (1841-1925), who wrote down many rhymes and stories that he heard from the labouring folk about him in Wilton, Wiltshire.

I have done my best with the Wiltshire accent, using my own modern Wiltshire accent, and also - as you see - a tasty prop for the imagery. You will be pleased to know it was cold by the time I got my eating gear around it!
