One of smaller anecdotes in the Wiltshire dialect by Edward Slow (1841-1925). This one plays on the common misunderstanding of the word hundred, being both the number 100, and the Hundred-weight (Cwt) imperial measure.

Now, I know the illustrated nails are not actually Hobnails (which were mostly for shoeing), and anyway, Hobnails would have been really dull in comparison. I was really lucky to find someone who had a collection of genuine medieval nails, and Lar, what real busters they were, to be sure!
