Welcome to City Stadium in Richmond, VA! This video covers the annual team photo for the Richmond Kickers our hometown USL team. Much of my professional photography has been sports related and soccer teams are kind of a niche market for me. This group has been a lot of fun over the past few years and I always enjoy collaborating with their marketing director who will use this image in a team poster.
You may notice that I take very few photos in this session. As you become familiar with locations and better in your craft the work often comes in setting up rather than capturing the image. City Stadium is kind of a second home so much of our time was spent setting up equipment and positioning the players. Once that was done I took a few quick photos before sending the team off to practice.
