How Cloud is Changing Infrastructure Procurement
The way people are buying cloud has changed the way they purchase infrastructure on premises. As a result, companies like HPE have changed from a product out view, where they iterate on products based on an internal roadmap, to a customer-in view where products and services are shaped by customer requests. Moving away from selling hardware to a model where customers are buying hardware as a service, complete with licenses and software where they can pay on a per virtual machine-basis just like they do when they buy from cloud providers like Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Erik Vogel of HPE Pointnext talks about this shift in this interview from HPE Discover in Las Vegas.
