My Favorite Siding
Back in early 2018, @JLCOnlineVideos published an article I wrote about using and installing LP SmartSide. I explained why we chose to use it, and rereading the article, its just as true today. I am not sponsored by LP. As #TheRationalBuilder we chose this siding based on research and experience with both SS and fiber cement siding (which is on my house). We installed fiber cement for the previous 10 years. Did you know that the fiber in fiber cement siding is wood pulp? In the background we installed the lap vertically in a "board on board" application (see manufacturer's installation instructions. The sill below the window is a beveled cedar 2x3 that is a stock item locally at the lumberyard. Don't use SS in that application.
