Tahquamenon Falls
Here's a relaxing 3min video providing a quick overview of Tahquamenon Falls on the Tahquamenon River in the upper peninsula of Michigan. This area is fondly referred to as the "U P". There are two falls to see if you visit the area. The Upper Falls are the biggest, 200ft across and dropping 48'. It's just a short hike from the visitor parking lot. The Lower Falls are much smaller, only about 4ft drop, but an easy 2100' hike from the parking lot, using an easy flat trail to see the Lower Falls up close. You can not only view Lower Falls up close, you swim there, if you can handle the water temperature. The larger Upper Falls is seen from a nearby viewing platform nearby, but there is no swimming allowed. Both falls are a must see if you happen to be driving by on the way to Painted Rocks on Lake Superior. There are campgrounds at the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, which is walking distance to the Lower Falls. The Upper Falls are ~5mi SW from the campground by road, on Hwy 123.
