Who are PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad)? | 5 Minute History
While Hamas is the most famous designated terrorist group from Palestine, others are also active across the region, such as the PIJ or Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Active since 1981, this much smaller group has not always seen eye-to-eye with Hamas or the PLO. Its armed wing, the Al-Quds Brigades has been responsible for a number of attacks in the area, including being involved in the October 7th attacks on Israel.
