Angels Like You
So here it is, my very first cover of my favorite song of the moment, Angels Like You by Ms. Miley Cyrus.
I’d like to dedicate this song to all the people out there struggling to let go of things that no longer serve you.
As background, I am a recent Columbia University and Fordham Law graduate currently pursuing a legal career in entertainment. But for a while now, I’ve been wanting to move more toward fulfilling my purpose—acting and performing—and not because I think I’m amazing, but because I feel so called to do so.
Unfortunately, for me, after years of internalized (and externalized) homophobia, and this culture of toxic masculinity that we all live in, I’ve often felt very scared of expressing my real wishes and desires.
From this moment on, I am no longer choosing to identify as straight because for me, it’s an extremely limiting construct that honestly brings me no value.
So here I am, in all my bisexual/pansexual/JDsexual glory singing pretty averagely, but free, I might add!!
Moving forward, I want to use my social media platforms to facilitate necessary discussions about perfectionism, burn-out, toxic masculinity, therapy, spirituality/religion, medication, and so many more interesting topics that are close to my heart!
& of course I will sing, because I love to!
I hope sharing this only makes our connection stronger and inspires those struggling to let go of the things holding them back. We are all meant to shine 💫
