A little over a year ago, I hit one of my life’s lowest points. I lost my grandpa (unexpectedly while away from him for just 24 hours), failed the bar exam, was struggling with my identity, and generally had no motivation to do anything.
Like I often do when I’m going through tough times, I latched onto beautiful music to help me get myself through them. Anyone by Demi Lovato, a song she wrote and recorded just days before her heroin overdose, was a lifesaver.
While I couldn’t relate to her particular experience of having danced with the devil, I could very much so relate to crying out for help, for literally anyone, and not feeling heard, even by God.
But like Demi says in the song, I kept praying anyway, & eventually, after many, many dark days, and after reaching out to my friends, family, and therapist for help, the sun began to come back to my life, slowly, but surely.
If anyone out there is going through a hard time, I feel for you, I love you, and I am here for you. Lean on your loved ones. Lean on me! You deserve to see brighter days and you will! Keep the faith!
Life’s a climb. But the view is great.
