I don't know about you, but when I go through a major loss, I tend to double down on the pain I'm feeling and pretty much forbid myself from experiencing any joy whatsoever.
I feel bad for myself. I listen to sad songs. I cry. I scream. For a while too sometimes. But then, somewhere in the midst of falling apart, I eventually remember that I am only a human being just trying to make it through.
