The Learning Center Project
North Texas Giving Day is tomorrow!
This year we are raising money to complete the Bat World Learning Center, which will be massively beneficial for bats all across the globe! Along with giving us a space to host our bat rehabilitation workshops, it will allow us to once again provide educational programs for both adults and school children. We will also be able to offer training to animal control officers, and bat removal companies, to ensure the methods they use are both safe and humane.
For those who may be unaware, bat rehabilitation workshops did not exist prior to Bat World Bootcamp, which was created in 1997. We have expanded those workshops to now include Zoom programs and weekend workshops, training over 800 people to date. This includes animal care professionals, biologists, conservation scientists, bat rehabilitators and teachers from every bat-inhabited continent in the world This past summer, we hosted interns who came everywhere from Alaska to the UK. We now have a waiting list for next summer. The Learning Center will be invaluable to teaching others how to properly care for bats, and they can teach other rescuers in their part of the world, saving thousands of bats around the globe in the process.
