When you go to a "Quicklube", be on your guard. Now not saying that they're dishonest or anything like that because the majority of them are not, but you have to look at the expertise level.
One of the big things that we find, is a recommendation to use a different viscosity of oil. A lot of car these days take 5W/20 oil. They'll tell you, "Oh, you don't want that stuff in your car, you want something that has some body to it, you need a 20/50; something that will protect your engine." Well don't do it. They don't know anything about oil and they are not qualified to make that recommendation.
You may get this deal where they come out with a paper towel or a blotter or something and they may show you a color and things like that. Get a second opinion; the coloration of the fluid is not an indicator of whether it's good or bad.
Go to these places they do a good job at what they do.
Watch out for some of the things that some of them call "flushes". Because lots of times what they call a 'flush', like a cooling system flush, is not a flush; it is a fluid exchange and it is worthless!
