Drawing Your Pet, many of us would love to try that. The only way I can teach you is by using six basic drawing methods I have used over the years. This isn't a cartoon pet drawing, it is about learning basic drawing skills that produce realistic results, and those skills can be applied to any object.
There is no magic; drawing is a skill like any other. I believe you can do it. This video may fall in the intermediate category, but I firmly believe any beginner can benefit from trying it.
The basic skills used here are 1) Taking and using a reference photo in proper proportion. No math whiz knowledge needed. The box you do your drawing in on the drawing paper simply has to be the same proportion as the grayscale print from your computer. More on this in the video. 2) Placing very simple guidelines on your reference print and your drawing paper. You are then transferring shapes to your drawing paper rather than thinking of drawing an animal. Checking angles. 3) Finding shapes within shapes and drawing them in, much like a paint by number. 4) Putting lights and darks inside those shapes. 5) Using your pencil to draw the fur in the same direction it grows on the pet's body 6) Don't give up! Your drawing goes through ugly stages. Use your eraser and keep checking shapes and angles lights and darks. This is how you learn to draw, not only your pet, but other objects.
