This hymn is derived directly from Scripture (several different versions combined: ESV, NIV, NASB, NLT, NKJV). Verse 1 is Proverbs 3:5-8. Verse 2 is 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. Verse 3 is Jeremiah 17:7-8.
Verses 1 & 3 of the song talk all about fully trusting God with your whole being and the prosperous promises associated with trusting in God. Verse 2 describes how one can still completely trust God amidst weakness, trial, and pain.
