"Ghosts of the City" tells the story of the burgeoning provincial town of Weimar and the people who lived there around 1800, including the rising poets Goethe and Schiller, who, together with their contemporaries, transformed Weimar into the center of a new intellectual movement. The film can also be viewed on request at the Weimar Experience Portal on an impressive video wall. This interactive installation offers the opportunity to watch a total of seven short films and experience Thuringia in a completely new way. The short film was produced by filmmaker David Campesino, and the design of the multimedia informational presentation was developed by the Dresden-based agency Whitebox.
The video is suitable for integration into classroom lessons, as an introduction to Weimar Classicism, or for preparing for a field trip to Weimar. Further resources for schools can be found on our website at www.klassik-stiftung.de/bildung.
