Is victim blaming needed for criminal psychology?
When it comes to criminal psychology and forensic psychology victim blaming is often thrown around as if one side of a tragic event has to bear all the fault. In this true crime video we explore the case of Rebecca Salcedo and Bruce Cleland, The case of Jerrod Murray, and the case of John Koppenhaver also known as War Machine.
I wanted to take a new spin on the true crime genre rather than just directly diving into interrogation footage that channels like Dreading, Red Tree Crime, Stranger Stories, STAYAWAKE, and Explore With Us focus on and instead shift the focus back to the why criminals commit crimes in the first place and what causes a someone to become a criminal. In other words we are focusing on the criminology behind the case rather than the cat and mouse games of police interrogations.
I also wanted to move the discussion away from just talking about the events themselves like Coffeehouse Crime, SWOOP, and Matt Orchid; and instead teach a lesson in order to protect yourself and not become a victim.
