A video essay about how statistics are used to twist a narrative using Twitch/YouTube streamer Ludwig. Learning both how to lie with statistics and how statistics are manipulated is crucial to avoid falling for their dark psychological traps.
Not everyone hates streamers but a meta analysis of streaming is important. DarkViperAU has shown in his "Why React Content Harms Everyone" series how reaction content is professionally parasitic. While the series heavily focused on Asmondgold and xQc he did include a segment on how Ludwig lied about his experiment titled, "I made a secret YouTube channel to prove it's not luck" which aimed to prove that YouTube took more skill than luck to succeed in. Unlike with DarkViperAU's video "Ludwig knows react content is wrong: He does it anyway" and "The most Bull video Ludwig ever made" this video doesn't seek to prove one way or another that reaction content is harmful but rather how Ludwig used the statistics themselves to manipulate you.
Ludwig has a reputation for being open and transparent with his career as well as being honest. We do have to apply Hanlon's razor and assume that this was not done with malicious intent but rather incompetence. However, according to the 48 laws of power, law 5
"So much depends on reputation guard it with your life" this video becomes a necessity as his reputation proceeds him.
On the 5th of November 2021 he released a video titled, "I made a secret YouTube channel to prove it's not luck" which was an analytical breakdown on a video titled, "How a door made this streamer $1 Million " which was released on the 1st of November 2021. On the 3rd of November 2021 Ludwig had promoted the experiment on The Yard Podcast giving both a description as well as the title of the video. The channel the video was on is no longer called Online Lore but rather Lud and Schlatts Musical Emporium and has been unlisted, but the experiment's results still sits at the 4th most viewed video on his main YouTube channel as of this videos release.
