Novelty Supressed Feeding Test Study Protocol: The setup for conducting this experiment included an open field, comprised of a 100 × 100 × 50 cm cardboard box coated in dark brown color. Various instruments were utilized, such as a stopwatch for behavioral tracking, a ceiling-mounted webcam connected to a recording device and Any-maze software for subsequent analysis, a lux meter to assess light levels in all corners of the box, and a regulated light bulb maintaining a steady 800 lumens intensity on the periphery while keeping the surrounding area dark. The floor of the open field was lined with easily cleanable wooden bedding. A central area within the field was designated, containing a small amount of highly palatable food. The entire experimental procedure was captured on video to ensure clear visualization of the field's periphery. Rats underwent a 5-day habituation period, spending up to 10 minutes in the open field before the commencement of the study. Additionally, they were deprived of food for 24 hours prior to experimentation. The experiment had a cutoff time of 10 minutes to prevent any artifacts from the depression model. After this time, each animal was returned to its cage and provided with food. The investigator left the room for 10 minutes, after which the remaining food was measured for each animal. Recorded actions included the time taken for the animal to approach the food for the first time and the total distance traveled by the animals.
