Inspired by multiple batt mods online, I thought I'd make my own version. I don't want to totally remove the option of using AA batteries as well as just simply slapping a huge lipo at the back of the TX. Adding a usb (step up/down) wasn't an option as well as it renders the voltage indicator of the TX (stucked at 5v). This way, it's clean and nice and would give out the impression that it's built-in.

I chose the red jst as it has the smallest dimension, long pins and doesn't have the usual locks (can easily plug in/out). Splicing the existing battery wires as oppose to directly soldering to the board is better for instances when you have to open the TX.

The 1S lipo depletes at 3.0v and the TX starts to beep (low voltage warning) at 4.2v. I adjust the 1S (3.7v) lipo by adding 1v on the TX (using the hidden menu). So when the TX starts to beep, this means my lipo has dropped to 3.2v and needs to be charged. Even if i ruin the 1S, it's cheap enough to be replaced and I'll just adjust the additional voltage to 0.8v (0.5v might be too close to the alarm).
