Miniature Thrift Flip: Abandoned Shed becomes Forest Cottage
Hi there! :D
Today, we're transforming an abandoned miniature from the thrift store to a cute forest cottage.
I found this sad little thing while looking for new vases and had to have it. I can't just leave things be that I know I can transform lol.
So I went on a little journey to make this house pretty again. The main challenge was the fact that I didn't want to take apart the entire house. This resulted in a rather cramped work space on the inside, but since I'm extremely stubborn I wanted to make over the inside as well.
A lot of the angles for filming are messy because of that, but I think you can still see the process well enough.
After tearing out all that styrofoam on the inside, I now had two projects wrapped up in one – fix up the outside of the house as previously planned, but also make a matching interior. Now, I knew beforehand that there wasn't going to be too much detail inside, mainly because it's hard to see with the roof on anyway, but also because of the issues reaching every corner inside.
I didn't make any sketches or plans for the interior, instead I just went with the flow. Overall, I wanted the house to have somewhat of a cottage vibe – maybe it's someone's weekend refuge where they can tend to the garden and spend quiet hours in nature, listening to the sounds of the forest and the fire in the oven at night.

The tried and tested bird sand method once again worked amazing to create the gravel path in front of the house and the gardening soil. That sand is good for any kind of build that features dirt, sand or stone surfaces.
Fun fact: one bag goes a long way. I only ever bought a single bag in the history of the channel, first to use in the BTS YNWA miniature and ever since then in various other projects. It will probably be in the shop forever lol
This mini marks one of two large projects on the list. After the next big video, there may or may not be a little break again, so that I have enough time to work on Halloween projects. Throughout Ocrober, I plan to return to weekly uploads as per channel tradition =)

Each day has a finite number of hours and they're often filled with responsibilities. It's also a way to recharge myself, so I can provide the care that my love one deserves.
Even though the channel had to take a few steps down on my to do list, as many other aspects of my own life, I will do my best to keep up with our annual Halloween tradition, so I can show you all those cool projects I planned for you :D
