The Concorde was the fastest passenger jet airliner to fly (Mach 2.0, 2140kph, 1330mph), and was even able to do a barrel roll, unheard of for a passenger jet.

Still regarded as the greatest modern airliner by many, it could reach 60,000 feet and fly on just two of its four high power Olympus 320 turbojets. Its maiden flight was in 1974, with 7 aircraft each flying around the world at Supersonic speeds with Air France and British Airways up until 2003 when it was retired due to running costs, at a total program cost of £1.3bn.

18 out of the 20 built still survive in various forms and 7 of these can still be seen still in the UK at Manchester, Edinburgh, Brooklands, Bristol, Yeovilton, Duxford and Heathrow Airport.
