We left at 8PM, drove over 7 hours overnight, rolled into camp around 3AM, and hit the field on almost no sleep. Day 1 was a grind — birds were gobbling early, but deer blew our setups before we could close the distance. Midday heat, ticks, sweat… and nothing to show for it.
Then everything changed.
A cold front rolled in overnight. Temps dropped into the 40s, the wind picked up, and instead of backing off, we stayed aggressive — covering ground, adjusting setups, and staying on birds.
Day 2… it all came together. Multiple birds down.
