I FEEL FLY feat. Mon'Aerie (Lyrics Video)
i probably should've saved this lyrics vid for last since it was the last song (pretty much) on the album, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a easy concept for "The Great Indoors" TBH... i had a different idea for "I FEEL FLY" too, but this one worked out better and kinda fit into my "brand" anyway. ANYWAYS, this record was inspired by one of my favorite bands of all-time: The Sylvers. for those who don't know, The Sylvers were like the bizarro The Jacksons back in the 70s. to me, they were equally dope back in the 70s, but the 80s were just not a kind to the Sylvers music-wise. Leon Sylver remained a beast even after they broke up and i highkey still really wanna work with him. i hit him up on Facebook once and he replied back once, but that was it lol i haven't fully given up yet, so who knows. if i was able to turn a hope for a Thundercat collab into an entire EP wit the man, i'm sure i can make any collab happen that i really want to... it should be obvi by now too, that i love that 70s & 80s jazz/soul sound and i want to continue recreating records that feel like this. i've got another really dope cover coming that's not jazz/soul, but a retro nonetheless. it's from that Duran Duran, The Smiths, The Cure era. i'm curious what my R&B spice on it will sound like it. we'll find out soon! shoutout to Mon'Aerie for the assisting vocals too. that's my sister for life and she's proof that i KNOW success isn't determined by hardwork and talent cuz we aint billionaires yet 😭😭😭
