New Bike Build - Kinesis AT Frameset
My failure to keep my Canyon Inflite's headset maintained meant that recently I discovered that the bearings inside the headset had seized and bonded to the frame. The old bearings couldn't be removed without damaging the frame. Sadly, it had to be retired.
The original plan was to buy a frameset and transfer everything across. But there were lots of challenges due to things like Quick Release vs Thru Axle, and Post Mount disc brakes vs Frame Mount disc brakes. In the end I replaced so many components that the "Trigger's Broom" analogy came into play (explained in the video). The bike is essentially new, with only my existing saddle, tyres and crankset moved across. Everything else was new!
