Step-by-step instructions to view file properties in Windows 11:
1. Right-click your file. (Instead of right-clicking, you can select the file and press Alt + Enter to skip the next step.)
2. Click Properties.
3. The Properties window appears.
The Properties window contains four tabs:
General: Shows common file information, such as file type, location, and size, and allows you to set the file as read-only or hidden
Security: Shows and allows you to edit group- and user-level file permissions
Details: Shows detailed file metadata, which differs based on the file's type
Previous Versions: Shows and allows you to open or restore previous versions of the file, if any exist
Click each tab to view the information and options it contains.
