Last week we covered from 1999 to the arrest, confession and charges that were levied against Robert Pickton, one of the most prolific serial killers in Canadian history. This has been an incredible journey and a story that is filled with more sadness than nearly any that we could cover on the podcast. This has been a story of a man who believed that he found a way to kill without getting caught but also a man who talked far too much and even though he believed that he was talking to people who would never talk eventually his sins caught up with him. This week we are going to talk about the way that he was murdered in prison and we are also going to take the time to recognize, as best that I can, the victims of Robert Pickton’s heinous crimes and we are going to talk about the trial and all of the ins and outs of the legal system that got us to where we are today. If you have yet to listen to parts 1 and 2 on Robert Pickton I suggest that you go back and listen to those before you listen to this episode for context and so that you are caught up on this historic and tragic case.
