On September 11, 201 nineteen year old Ruth Thalia would be on television on Peru's version of The Valour of Truth, called El Valor de la Verdad. She would ultimately win fifteen thousand soles ($5000 U.S.) but many believe that the appearance on the show is ultimately what let to her murder at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.
