Thanksgiving is a harvest festival celebrated in the United States and Canada, the form of which differs significantly from the European tradition of this festival.
In the United States, Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.[1] The festival incorporates elements from the pioneer life of the Pilgrims (Plymouth Colony) and thus has a certain national character. Thanksgiving is the most important family holiday of the year in the United States, and many families also invite friends or other guests. At its heart is a large meal (often dinner). Since often all generations of a family gather, and they sometimes live scattered across the country, there is far more traffic on airports and roads around the holiday than at any other time of year.
In Canada, the holiday is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Thanksgiving is a public holiday in most provinces, making it one of the popular long weekends of the year. The holiday was originally celebrated on October 12th (Columbus Day, the day the "New World" was discovered), but—like Columbus Day in the US—it was moved to a Monday.

Grindhouse is a 2007 American action-horror-thriller double feature film directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
Grindhouses were theaters in the United States during the 1960s and especially the 1970s that specialized in B-movies and showed two films of one or more genres together as a double feature, under the motto "two for the price of one." The two films were therefore released together in US theaters on April 6, 2007. However, since most moviegoers were unaware that Grindhouse was a double feature, many reportedly left the theater after the first film, Planet Terror, without having seen Tarantino's Death Proof. Because of this, and because the Easter weekend release date was chosen as unfavorable, box office results fell far short of expectations, and it was decided to release the two films separately in Europe. Tarantino's Death Proof was released in German cinemas on July 19, followed by Rodriguez's Planet Terror on October 2. These two versions of Planet Terror and Death Proof have a combined runtime of 215 minutes; the runtime of the Grindhouse double feature is only 191 minutes.
Due to high demand from Grindhouse fans, the original double feature was finally released in German cinemas on July 3, 2008, a year after the initial release of the first single.
