What if your body speaks — but not in a language you can understand?
For 15 years I've been learning to listen. And still, the signals my body sends — aches, throbs, the quiet activations — remain just beyond reach. Like having a dictionary with no corresponding language. My body hears my inner monologue and responds. But I can't read the reply.
Trauma does this. Decades of medical insults, autistic traits, and emotional neglect don't just leave marks — they teach the somatic self to keep its secrets. To go mute.
And then, unexpectedly: a song. Lyrics that arrive without invitation. Maybe that's the barbaric yawp my body defaults to when English fails us both.
This is Somatic Dispatch 15 — part of a series documenting the lived experience of rebuilding a connection between mind and body through Existential Neurobiology.
