I've always wanted to try out building a custom keyboard. The idea seemed like a fun challenge so I bought the Mercutio, since it was relatively cheap and easily available. Unlike my Keychron K6, this involved a whole lot of soldering and a more complicated assembly. This is also going to be my first time trying out a 40% keyboard and a split spacebar configuration.
