Fluid flow in a T junction – sounds simple right? However, it can be more valuable than one might expect.
Sharp T-junctions (shown on the left) have been known to cause issues in the pipeline industry. With abrasive materials transported through these pipes, they are damaged and corroded, thereby leading to high replacement costs.
