Penn State enjoyed a solid victory in it's first ever Big Ten road contest. With a struggling passing game, John Sacca would take a seat for the incumbent Kerry Collins, and never start another game for the Nittany Lions. The running attack was vintage Penn State football though, and helped control the pace of the game while the Blue and White defense dominated, pitching a shutout. It was the first time in Hayden Fry's career as Iowa head coach, that his team failed to score a single point in a home game.

Penn State's Top Performers:
Ki-Jana Carter: 19 carries, 144 yards, 1 TD
Stephen Pitts: 2 rushing touchdowns
PSU Defense: 9 quarterback sacks, 3 turnovers, 1 shutout

The Nittany Lions took home their third win in as many games with the 31-0 victory, while Iowa went on to post a 6-6 record in 1993. The loss to Penn State was the Hawkeye's first loss of the year.
