Penn State took on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on the road and won fairly decisively in a "track meet" type of game. The defense made some big plays but allowed Rutgers to really move the ball on them while putting up some points. They couldn't seem to get a handle on Rutgers All-American tight end, Marco Battaglia who had a career night. But the PSU offense couldn't be stopped as a large part of that was due to the magnificent performance of Bobby Engram.
Penn State Top Performances:
Bobby Engram: 8 catches, 175 yards, 4 TDs
Curtis Enis: 15 carries, 146 yards
Kim Herring: 2 interceptions (including 1 pick-six), 2 passes defended
Aaron Collins: 11 tackles
Penn State returned to State College with a 3-0 record while Rutgers fell to 1-2 in the young season. The Scarlet Knights would finish 1995 with a 4-7 record in the Big East Conference.
