A Tribute To The Kansas City Southern Railway
Tomorrow, a Class I railroad will be no more. Canadian Pacific will merge with and acquire Kansas City Southern on April 14th. To mark this momentous event, I will be making a video in tribute to each of these railroads. This is the first of those videos, commemorating KCS. Having grown up far from any KCS lines, I didn't see all that much KCS. However, I did see just enough to make this video. After going through my archives dating back to 2016, I have gathered some of the best videos I have of KCS in action, including the one and only actual KCS train that I ever saw. Railroading sure has changed a lot in eight years. As someone who has grown up around CP, I'm sure that I'll see plenty of KCS engines up here soon as the two railroads become one.
How long will it be before we think of KCS as being as a fallen flag, just as rare as something like a Santa Fe warbonnet or an Illinois Central deathstar?
