Dr. Constance Horgan is Professor at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and Co-Director of the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy and Research and the founding Director of its Institute for Behavioral Health. Dr. Sharon Reif is Professor at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, Deputy Director of its Institute for Behavioral Health, and Deputy Director of its National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) doctoral training program.
Drs. Horgan and Reif describe what healthy policy is and talks about the purpose of the research. As examples, they discuss the role that health policy research has played and continues to play in improvements to the way that healthcare is delivered in general, and specifically for the treatment of alcohol use disorders.
