Dr. Che-Hong Chen is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Chemical and Systems Biology of Stanford University, and the CEO of the International ALDH2 STAR Research Consortium, as well as Director of China, Singapore, and Taiwan Outreach in the Center for Asian Health Research and Education Center. Dr. Chen describes what alcohol intolerance is and what the consequences are. He also highlights that alcohol intolerance, sometimes known as alcohol flushing, is not limited to people from East Asia, and it should be considered carefully when assessing risks for cancer. Dr. Chen recommends that if you do not drink, then you should not start, especially if you are a person with alcohol flushing.
