This is my bass part in A Perennial Daydream's Psychic Marie, aka the band i play in. This song was our fifth song we wrote and was bit of a sonic return to Cerebral Surf. I need to dig out the memos but i believe this was in May 2019 we began this song and workshopped it out in Mat's garage. He had the general guitar and vocals sorted out and then we filled things in with Bass and Drums.
The song sounded great and was done in our eyes, and then when Chris joined it really completed itself with the addition of his guitar lines which so elegantly slip in between the vocals and bring so much interest to the song. He also added synth and accompanies the outro Bass solo.
I've spent the last two months producing the song and its really amazing how much production can tie things together. On top of the Bass VI I wrote a Bass part to accompany it, which comes in around the second verse and hits you in the soul. 2:40 Overdubbing the bassvi with bass really filled out this song.
The guitar recording was led by Chris (Keet) and whatever he did was amazing as aside from panning and adding high-pass filters i did nothing to the guitars.
