The Maritime Legacy of Aura River: Tall Ships Races 2024 Highlights.Turku. Finland.
Ships and their passengers have left their mark on Turku over the centuries. The maritime Aurajoki route explored the river’s historical events and future plans. Turku, known as a river city, continues to strengthen its maritime identity and looks towards the sea in the future.
The choice of the maritime theme for the new route was also influenced by the Tall Ships Races event, which took place in Turku in July. Finland’s largest public event, held from Thursday to Sunday, July 18th to 21st, attracted up to half a million visitors.
