Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located in Swedish Lapland. It is known for its rich iron ore deposits. Kiruna was granted city status in 1948. The spread of fractures caused by mining activities has necessitated the transformation of affected areas, a process that has already begun. As a result, new residential areas are being built near the city to relocate residents from homes affected by the deformations. This is a complex but exciting project that will continue for decades!
