New Orchids? Diseased? Tips Threat vs. No Threat

Orchids grow in the wild and there is no one checking on them, so if there are pseudobulbs and sheaths displaying signs of black spots or black lines or anything else that would make us stop and think, in nature orchids do not have anyone checking the sheaths to either remove them or treat the orchid and 'they grow just fine'. When you see an orchid growing in nature, it does not look pristine at all. I would say that it actually looks rather tattered torn and worn. What happens in nature is a different story and many times we don't know if the pseudobulbs and sheaths start to have issues, but in our private collection, growing orchids is a different caliber. We have to be aware of the health of our orchids, or else we could loose them. Awareness of changing weather influences can be the make or break when it comes to what the sheaths of our orchids are doing / looking like. Personally, the orchids in nature are wonderful, but not my concern. My concern is what is going on in my collection and how can I best keep my orchids safe.
