2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY--The Dawn of Man and the second sentient being in the universe
2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 science fiction film directed by Stanley Kubrick based on a script co-written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke who also wrote a novelization of the film that came out after the film's release. The film was inspired by Clarke’s 1951 short story called The Sentinel. The film stars Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood, William Sylvester, and Douglas Rain. The film’s themes such as artificial intelligence, space travel, human evolution and extra-terrestrial contact has captivated audiences for generations and established Kubrick as one of cinema’s most important innovators.
