Breaking news! Astroboden is moving!
The autumn has been busy. Very busy. And not with much astronomy related stuff.
There has been some work on the Lucid Mount over the summer, making it quiet as a mouse, but not much more.
The biggest update however is that I, and Astroboden is moving. The farm is sold and we’re relocating to a new place. The new place is much smaller, but closer to work.
I have made efforts to find a place with astrophotography as deciding factor, but the time we live in is not the best. We’ll have to make do with what we find possible.
The first idea was also to bring some of the mighty ducks with me, but moving into a small property with farm animals is just not right. Maybe one day, when the roots have set and if it feels right, I can get another little crew of Indian running ducks. This gang on the other hand, has got the best home imaginable. They are loving it. And that’s all that matters.
For this episode, which will be the last one from the old farm, I test out the Lucid Mount after some summer hardware upgrades. The noise from the old system was deafening, and with closer to neighbors in the future, it had to be dealt with.
The new rig really quiet. Remains to see if holds up for astrophotography.
We’ll also go for a quick little tour of the new site, and what challenges or opportunities it might bring.
