I got the idea for this workflow from Reddit user tokidokiyuki who shared their thoughts on upscaling here: / my_process_to_upscale_an_image_through_img...
This technique creates much better detail than existing upscalers like ESRGAN and Gigapixel since it upscales 512 x 512 square images using a unique prompt + img2img.
My scripts do not fully automate this workflow yet, although there is some flexibility having each square saved off. It's possible to generate multiple variations and choose your favorite details in the compositing stage.
So far I've only tested the workflow on this image. When I do more tests I'll update this description with the full scripts needed to get this to work. I will also share more videos in the upcoming days on Concept Art & Illustration workflows, as well as how to use my colab. Subscribe for more!
