So you want to “Save New Podio Items in Google Sheets Database”. But, how will you do it? That’s where Automate.io comes in, it’s a simple tool to connect your favourite web apps, like Podio, Google Sheets & hundreds more.
To begin, visit this page, click on our usecase box and click on the Get Started Button. On the Add Accounts screen, you will add your Podio & Google Sheets accounts to Automate.io. Authorize these apps by clicking on the ‘Add’ button and entering your credentials. We always keep your data secure with bank-level encryption.
After successfully authenticating your apps, you will land on the Configure page. On this page, you will configure the specific data that you want to transfer from Podio to Google Sheets. First let’s focus on Podio, our trigger app - it tells us when you want your automation to start. Remember, you can change these triggers for different use cases.
Now coming to Google Sheets, our action app, which tells us what’s the end result you want from your automation. For this automation to work, you need to fill the right value in the required input fields for Google Sheets these fields are - SpreadSheet - select the specific google spreadsheet where you want the data to get transferred & WorkSheet - Select the worksheet from the spreadsheet selected above. Note, the field names that appear below the worksheet are taken from the columns in the Google Spreadsheet from our example spreadsheet. You will see different input fields based on your spreadsheet. They can be filled out by dragging and dropping relevant data from Podio like this.
To proceed to the next stage, click on Done. In this stage, you will test your newly created automation - which we call a BOT. We will now test our bot.
