You will see the ‘Add Accounts’ screen. Here you will connect your Asana and JIRA accounts to Automate.io.
Now, let’s enter our account credentials. We never take chances with your data. We always keep it secure with bank-level encryption.
Alright! Our apps are connected. Time to build our automation, also called a Bot.
First, let’s talk about JIRA. It is our trigger app, which starts our Bot. This Bot triggers every time there is a new issue in your JIRA project. However, if you want the bot to trigger for any other JIRA item, you can change the trigger using this drop-down.
And, let’s move to Asana. It’s the action app that performs our desired action. Here, we want to copy our JIRA issue to Asana as a task.
Let’s do that by dragging and dropping our issue details from JIRA to Asana like this.
Now, you may have another use case when you want your Asana tasks to be turned into JIRA issues. In that case, you just have to flip the integration by setting Asana as the trigger and JIRA as the action. Here, JIRA supports all the possible issue types: Bug, Epic, Subtask, Story, and Task.
We’ve now set up our bot. Let’s see if it works as we wanted. Now, come back to your Automate.io dashboard. Looks good so far!
Let’s check our Asana account. Great! It works. Your bot will now run in the background and automatically copy every new JIRA issue to Asana as a task.
