Examples from Real Life: This law holds true in normal circumstances. A ball that has been thrown falls to the earth when it is released due to gravity, but it also continues to move ahead due to its initial velocity until it is stopped by the ground or another force.
The consequences of Newton's First Law are extensive. It explains why seatbelts are necessary in cars because they stop occupants from moving forward when a vehicle abruptly stops. It also explains how once spacecraft are in motion, they continue to move, allowing them to cruise through space with little or no propulsion.
This law essentially serves as a fundamental tenet of physics, explaining how things act in the universe. It serves as a reminder that things cannot change their state of motion on their own; instead, they require an outside force to do so.
