Want to be a better Amazon seller in 2016? In this video, Nathan Slamans and Andy Slamans discuss 10 Tips ( and 2 bonus tips) that they feel will help improve your business in 2016.
10 Tips:
1. Get Started – Andy and I are working on some material for that and will make sure to get information to anyone who needs it to help with that.
2. Look back at 2015 – analyze your profit margins and see what you really did well.
3. Get 2015 off your mind. Although you want to review and see how you can improve, you don’t want to be stuck in last year.
4. Set goals for 2016 – Again, studies show those who write down and review their goals achieve them much more often.
5. Create process systems that will make your business more efficient.
a. Have a system to organize your tasks that need to be completed
b. Have a system to see if you are receiving all of your inventory
c. Have a system to evaluate your inventory regularly and make sure you are maximizing sales.
d. If you are scaling your business, now is as good a time as any for the year to look for/train someone to list/process inventory.
e. Evaluate if renting a workspace would be beneficial.
6. Diversify your sourcing strategy – look at RA/OA/Wholesale/PL
7. Take advantage of seasonal buys
a. Just like we try to take advantage of Q4, think of each holiday as a mini Q4 that you can use to boost sales.
8. Improve your Selling behavior
a. It is more important than ever to be a smart Amazon seller
b. Recommend learning how to bundle, multipack, and create listings
c. Make data-driven decisions.
9. Join like-minded sellers to form a mastermind
a. Masterminds share experience, tips, blogs, and knowledge with each other to create a sum that is greater than the individuals.
b. There are masterminds that did amazing in 2015 and never would have been able to find the product opportunities that they did without their shared knowledge.
10. Cut the “2% Corner”
a. One of the SlamazonBros members, super smart seller, Steve Sawyer, told us a couple weeks ago about cutting the 2% corner.
b. This is the pile of things that you collect over the course of processing FBA, returns, randomly purchased items, damaged items, and failed bundle designs.
c. Steve says that if you let this pile grow, it will suck the life, money, and energy from you!
d. Donate, use it, or throw it away so that you can free up your time and energy and not have to worry about it.
